Beginning with a fully-manual camera [Pentax K-1000] and continuing to shoot and purchase other cameras and supporting equipment [Numerous Pentax and Nikon models, Bronica ETRS, Mamiya RB67, Calumet 8x10 large-format, Metz, Stroboframe, Vivitar, Sunpak, etc..] the digital-age ushered in a change in the way photography is captured... As much as the equipment-used is important, the adjustments of the equipment are paramount. We shoot fully-digital with the Nikon platform supporting our efforts; but certainly can utilize film when the need surfaces.
With a background in computer programming that begins in grade-school and continuing thru the college years, keeping up with the changes in the post-camera and pre-production aspects of the digital workload is not a problem for us. All Photoshop corrections are done in-house.
